Thanks for the help with the websites traffic!
Great work!
Watching Customers First Hand
I knew Heelys were on the decline when my kid’s schools started banning them. The kids essentially roller skating through the halls became a problem. If you can’t show off your cool shoes at school what’s the point. Peter Lynch use to talk about picking stocks based on where his kids shopped. Web traffic can be interesting and helpful but nothing beats watching the customers first hand.
context
Ahh, come on a bit of contextual foregrounding doesn't hurt - better to have some interest and a bit of literary merit - otherwise we could have just ended up with a speadsheet to look at.
I'm wondering if unique visitors wouldn't be a better and more direct meaurable to corerelate with rather than SERPS. interesting that there is correlation, but when I think about the 100s and 100s performing key phrases on our website it would make my eyes water trying to ammalgate all their individual values. In contrast I have a pretty clear idea of how much each unique is worth on average in terms of turnover and net.
No Editor Shows
Jason, don't misunderstand... but, honestly, what does your trek up Mt Fuji really have to do with "Are Search, Web Traffic, Indicators Of Offline Value?"
I mean... by the third paragraph, I had to re-check the title because I forgot the point to the story. Sorry, man, but... this is so not you. Usually, you're one of the better online writers... definitely one I recommend regularly to my friends.
Sometimes, not having an editor really shows... and it's not a pretty site.

I agree with your comments but stopped reading & skimmed down after something about boots on the underground... what I did find of use was the Compete.com's comparison link which told me all I wanted to know, thanks.remember write about computer stuff here not holidays howerver interesting....
