This was a minor hitch for a company that provides solid service year after year and does it best to address problems quickly.
With the size of their user base taken into consideration, they give much better service than similar sized companies in other industries.
OMG
And people are STILL freaking out about this?! I have to say...if people are getting this worked up over movies, then seriously they need to get a life. I mean, come ON...this is NOT the biggest thing or affront in business today. If anyone thinks it is, they are just a sad, little person. I am a customer and I don't mind waiting a few days. I spend 3 hours a day in traffic!!! A couple of days getting DVD's is no big thing. So if YOU are one of those freaking out, then YOU need to do something different. Big Babies!

yes, all who have issue with this problem should get a grip. I have been a netflix customer since the 1st year netflix was netflix. Friday I get an email saying they are crediting 15% of my bill to make up for a lag in delivery time. I had not noticed 1st of all, but completely understood since other services had experienced problems as well. The Denver area, and netflix distribution area received a record rainfall Thursday and Friday, cutting power to those east of denver, and flooding in some areas from Greeley to Castle Rock. Did people pitch a fit when we were snowed in and their was no mail delivery for nearly a week????? And If you look at the fine print when you sign up that Netflix is not responsible for any delay in your receiveing movie by mail in any acts of Nature..... I'm paraphrasing.... KUDOS to Netflix for going above and beyond their scope of service and refunding $ beause the rain fell heavily, and cut their power for a while.....
Netflix you rock!!! Thank you for caring so much. and stop listening to the whiners.... the majority of us appreciate and love your service, even with the Entire TWO delays in service we have experienced since the conception of netflix...
These Things Happen
It does not bother me that NetFlix has had a few problems lately. It happens to every company.
There is no doubt in my mind that they will made good on any financial inconvenience that their consumers have suffered.
I love the Netflix service and it beats paying for Cable.

Does anyone know if customer information was compromised? The system went down on August 12th and I started receiving fraudulent charges on my credit card on the 13th in San Francisco. I live in SC and have never been to San Fransicso. It was just a weird co-incidence especially since Netflix is based in CA. I've never had fraudulent charges before and it happened right after the "shipment outage."
Grow up, Suck it up thank you lucky stars
It just amazes me how intense people get over something as insignificant as this... I mean, we ARE talking about a MOVIE service-- not life-support!
Back in 2004, I had to go 3 days without electricity -- which also meant no phone, no water (electric pump) and to use the toilet we had to walk down the hill with a bucket to the nearest stream... now, THAT's worth crying about.
Did I get a rebate from the stupid electric company when all my frozen food was ruined? Hell, no! Instead, I got a, "that's your problem; deal with it" response.
Babies.
I hope you have learned from
I hope you have learned from you experience as I hope netflix will. I had power problems not as bad as you though,I now have 1Kw ups to back up all dvd tv & other electrics plus another for computers, the main unit being powered by auto batteries (3 hours power) charged from the mains with connection for external generator or provision to hotswaping batteries. hopefully you may consider this now or just a small ups for the water pump.... (swap external battery over with auto battery when it gets low to charge) or back to the bucket!
