Culberson's Last Stand Tweeted

The day the lights went out in Congress

U.S. House

I'm very proud of Congressman Culberson and the other reps staying and fighting for the American people.  That is why we elect them.  Fight On!

Keep UP the FILIBUSTER

A special thank you must go out the Congressmen who are doing the right thing for the American people by filibustering Nancy Pelosi's Congress to vote on an energy bill. Thank you so much!!! Keep up the good fight!

Great article, Jason!

I grew up in what's optimistically called the "Oil Patch," specifically South Louisiana.  I know what drilling mud and oil refineries smell like, and what "corduroy roads" of lumber and mud running through green pastures to well heads look like - five miles from where I grew up.  And I and my son have both gone offshore to work in the oil industry, drilling deep in the Gulf of Mexico.  I still have my Merchant Mariner's Papers (my "Z-card") from those days.

I really have to admire the sheer nerve of Pelosi, Boxer and the other California Democrats - while lecturing the rest of us on how bad offshore drilling is for THEIR ecology, they continue to demand that other states export oil and gas products from wells drilled off of THEIR shores.  Apparently it's just fine to screw with the ecologies of Texas, Louisiana, and the rest of the Gulf Coast.  "Hypocrite" doesn't quite do them justice, but I can't really describe their attitude without recourse to profanity.

But enough of the unpaid political pronouncements - your reporting on how Twitter is changing the Washington scene is great; I only wished that the so-called "mainstream media" picked the story up.  Geeks don't have enough votes to sway the election.

Covering Culberson

Mr. Miller,

Excellent summary of Culberson's Texas Tea Party Revolt! We are proud that a Texas Congressman is both a new media pioneer in the Congress and also has the courage of his convictions. I was following his tweets as he sent them on Friday. Historic, to say the least!

Thanks!
