wow
Very interesting article Jason.
Everyone has a bias...
Yes,
Everyone has a bias...I am one of those consumers who really don't care if the news coverage is being sponsored by a multinational fastfood chain...
AS LONG as they don't have a "special section" in my favorite newscast about the "Benefits of Trans-Fat" and "Who's afraid of Trans-Fat?"
My! that would not only be "crossing the line" or "blurring the line" for me...
"Unethical" would be the mildest adjective for that if that would ever happen...
Ethics
Check out WFAA TV (Channel 8 Dallas) on Sunday mornings. A local mortgage lender is interviewed every week as a "guest." He is also a major advertiser with them. How convenient. When I confronted them with it, they just sugar-coater a stock email and smiled as they smiled and lied to me.
IT'S CALLED LIVE SPAM BECAUSE I COULD CARE LESS ABOUT RODNEY ANDERSON'S LENDING COMPANY.
What is next? Product placement? I would sure like to see some of our female anchors wearing Hooter's t-shirts. I might go back to watching the news. Fow now, I get my news off of the internet...I expect to be bombarded with useless crap there.
Maybe they should target this better. Perhaps they could sandwich this between a couple of nice house fires. At least it would be somewhat relevent.
