So now they finally where able to get the record sales they wanted and during all this time of pushing there newest product nobody was thinking about the service traffic amounts and that it could possiably cause bottle neck issues? Yeah my lol comes in about now.
you Can't Prepare....
You can't prepare for more than a million people hitting your site at one time. It's totally impossible...In fact I would surmise that more than a million people were accessing the store. It's not that they can handle a million people in traffice in one day but very few sites can handle a million people all at the same time...Its just impossible..
Not really there is plenty
Not really there is plenty of load balancing networking hardware out there and while your point stands that maybe 1 million is too much nothing stopped them from defering connections rather than letting themselfes be flooded till the point of no operation which is worse
