Now that's funny. I'm not a big fan of link buying or selling so congrats to Google on that one.
No more farm links!
Congrats to Google! It´s unfair to dispute better positions with pages that buy links. Sometimes you best content, better optimization but others sites appears first in the searches, and then you check their backlinks you noticed that those links came from exchange or farm links pages!

And the link slapping continues.

The Offending Links Were In 2007
Actually if you look the offending links were removed in 2007. Well before I got to Tribune in February 2008.
I'll comment more later but thought I'd make that point first and foremost.
