Google, Facebook Release iPhone Applications

Focus on speed and convenience

Amazing

I must say the iPhone is amazing! Especially with regards to speed and convenience. When I am surfing the web, my pages load faster than my home connection (pretty sad i know). The iPhone has way more capabilities than a computer for the mere fact that the developers are creating all these applications that are accessed at a touch of a button. And not to mention, update on their own when they need to. All in all iPhone Apps are the reason the iPhone is such a strong product

Wait in line?

I can't understand standing in line for 2+ hours for a phone.  I have been waiting for iphone for over 6 monthes and nursing my ailing smart phone to make it through.  I went by a couple of stores over the weekend and of course they were sold out of iphones.  Once again apple failed to realize the demand for this phone and has let the buying public down.  I guess this is like anything else, let the "gotta-have-it geeks" get the first "buggy" models and wait for the next model with the bugs fixed.  My biggest complaint is that I was on the list at my local store for the past 4 monthes to get a phone.  I got a call from the store about 2 on Friday saying they had sold out and would I like them to order me one.  My reply to them was that they had my name on their list for 4 monthes to hold me a phone, not to sell it to some geek who stood in line to replace his 2 month old phone so that he could have the latest and greatest just so they could order me a phone to arrive later.  This particular store will NOT get any more of my business, EVER!!!!!!  This new phone had better be all that it is cracked up to be or I will be switching carriers as well.

Re: Wait in line?

But that is exactly what Apple had in mind when they created the iPhone. As with all the products they release to the market. They create an artificial demand for a product before they release it to the shelves. Just like Sony did when they released the PS3, they marketed the product like crazy via television, radio, print, and internet and when it came time to release the product they only released a limited number which drive the price up. Why should Apple be any different, they created an outstanding product, engaged in the proper pre-release steps, then released the iPhone to an audience that was dying to get their hands on it. So I'm sorry but it was YOU who bought in to all the hype, and it was YOU who stood in line.

iPhone Madness!

Buying the iPhone is a high priority and patience is even higher. Knowing full well that there would be issues with the iphone in some form or another, waiting in line for hours and then more hours to "fix" the glitch was not my idea of owning the iPhone.

As was evident on the 11th, there was a glitch, it is being addressed and I did not wait for hours. I am very confident that this is only temporary but I am patient enough to wait for the next shipment of phones to purchase one and have it activated in a timely fashion.

Good Point Amy

I'm going to have to agree with you Amy, I purchased and activated my iPhone much later than everyone else. In fact I didn't even get the original iphone, I waited until the

iPhone 3g

came out. There's no point in waiting in line for hours just so you can have a phone before everyone else. I find it kind of funny how people are so eager to buy the new merchandise at much higher prices just so they can be the first to get their hands on it. However, I am pleased with the iPhone 3g especially because I enjoy using all of the

iPhone apps

on a daily basis. If it wasn't for those applications, the iPhone wouldn't be all that exciting because the whole zooming in feature gets kinda old after a while.

Stood In Line....

Its funny how people who actually did not do anything assume the worst for everyone else. I stood in line for about 2 hours, got my iphone and walked out with a fully activated iphone. Yes there were a few glitches I've heard about as well but there were isolated instances. No problems here. Love it and I've got it before you do.
