It can take almost anything

google has so many filters these days it can be triggered by even the smallest change - be careful with these ones though and you'll benifit beyond measure :D

Yes, changing whois data, nameservers, and content will trigger SE alarms. Also, someone mentioned that simply adding Adsense triggered a drop in the SERPs. Scary stuff.

Someone also mentioned that if the domain owner is using private registration, keep it - then SEs won't know that the owner has changed.
