I am ebay seller bubbalues, I believe this is a good example of feedback extortion and ebay is allowing it to happen. Buyer lhenri2794 bids on a saw, he receives it in a timely mannor and then emails me that he had been to the store and could get a new saw cheaper than the amount he bid and now wants a refund, he goes on to tell me that if I will accept a much lower amount all would be fine.

I reported this to Ebay and told them this guy over bid the item and now is trying to minipulate the bid, they advised me it would be good relations to refund this guy, so I issued a full refund. I then filed a bid extortion complaint with ebay support and requested my commission fee back from ebay.

Ebay said the bidder did attempt bid extortion and that they would handle the violation and my fees would be refunded, they did not, instead ebay kept my commission fees and allowed the bidder to give me bad feedback and low dsr's.

Hi, got the saw today. I must say I am very disappointed. The saw had a seizure. The piston and cylinder are scored. The saw has 100# of compression. Your description says "great" compression, definately not. Also says that the "Sprocket and clutch are in good shape". That is not true it needs a new spur gear. I am sure this saw has plenty of use on it, it is not LOW use like you said.I would spend $120 on items that you sad were Great or good. It is also missing the top half of the aircleaner. I would then end up with your saw for $287 when I can buy a new one (with a bar and chain)for $300. I would like a full refund and I will ship it back.

Ebay quality of product is slowly vanishing with cheap products seaming to become more prevailent. How can a dealer with a quality product compete on ebay?

I love some aspects of ebay but there seems to be so many rules at times you wonder if its all worth it!

All sellers are greedy selfish arrogant wankers who give you minimal service and charge as much as they can get away with. Fuck em all. What EBay did was totally justified. In addition they should have thrown all sellers in prison and beat them to death.

eBay Changes a lot for women? But i think it is still in high fee. Right? Do you know www.taobao.com from China? It is total free, and the alipay is total free. Our shoes WWW.ELEVATINGSHOES.COM selling online store are sold in taobao too, but not yet in EBAY by now. Maybe in 1 or 2 month later.

Would ya believe that when eBay changed their policy on feedback, I thought they’d done it because of ME? I griped at the message board. My message was removed for being of such a gripy nature (ew!), I was notified, and I replied as to how lovely it would be if the eBay cops paid such close attention to the seller practice of retaliatory feedback as they’d paid to my little comment on their message board. In my gripy post, I had explained how a dreadful experience from a ripper-offer had caused me to go from 150 mph to zero in a minute flat as an eBay shopper. My "thing" is vintage comic books, Katy Keene specifically, also books and movies.

I didn't eBay again for at least a year after receiving a comic book from a power seller that had 3 pages missing. Seller would not respond to my emails. Don't tell me this shocks you sellers, come on, what is a buyer to do? It happens constantly! This seller had a slew of negative feedback, but I had been mesmerized by the comic book I wanted (for nostalgia's sake), and not even checked (totally my fault, but hardly illegal or dishonest). After nearly 2 months, I gave up seeking a refund, quit asking to return the book, and left the negative feedback the seller deserved, nothing needlessly nasty, just the facts. INSTANTLY, not MINUTES later, I received retaliation as follows: SPOILED BUYER, BEWARE!!!!! Offered to refund money, buyer refused!"

Boy, oh boy, oh boy.

I'm only kidding about thinking the policy change was "about me" of course. But I love the change. Ebay is EXACTLY right in determining that ugly feedback from dishonest seller to upset buyer causes buyers to go away, cools a buyer's blood, moves them to decide wisely that eBay-ing is an oft-silly, expensive habit, best forsaken anyway. That's what it did to me for a year, in the middle of my vintage comic collecting ROLL.

Now I've got a new beef with eBay sellers. This guy added a 2 dollar handling charge after the auction ended. Shipping was already $2., that's why I bid on the thin comic book. Turned into FOUR dollars AFTER the auction ended. Sure, his listing quoted $2.00 twice, as he now insists, but it did not look like a SEPARATE charge for each, 2 for shipping, 2 more for handling, the way he had it. Why not just up-front admit shipping/handling will be $4.00? Because he got a lot more bids by showing shipping/handling to be $2.00!

The extra 2 bucks had to be ADDED by the seller AFTER the deal was done, not as shipping, but as "seller has added the following charges" on the invoice he sent. I questioned that, made my unhappiness clear to him, politely, even though I had already paid, and quickly. So he cancelled the sale and refunded my money. The CUTEST part is, it shows on my Paypal account as an item I have not paid for. It appears on my eBay account the same. "Need to pay for item" appears where "Leave Feedback" should be. I can't leave feedback for this seller, neutral or negative, nadda. Clever, eh? I wonder how he swung that little trick.

He is a "new" seller with only 90-something transactions. I say, he is an OLD power seller with a new identity, and I can certainly see why he needed one.

At the least, he deserves a neutral rating with "seller cancelled the transaction" as feedback. Many buyers give “negative" for this, as well they ought.

Where one “buyer” here has proclaimed that you can’t judge a seller unless you can look at the kind of feedback they leave for their buyers…what nonsense. I have never heard this reasoning before. I doubt that anyone else has, either.

The Dishonest, Bad Seller’s ability to leave ugly retaliatory feedback for any buyer who tries to get fair treatment HAD to go. How can you all possibly argue with that? (I never did get that worthless comic book returned or a refund. I ate the loss. The seller is still at eBay, going strong, still racking up negative feedback, along with positive...but no longer able to retaliate, thank heaven. Because LOTS of buyers are also sellers, retaliation can be devastating.)

Or, maybe I only feel this way because I am an honest, reasonable buyer. I can’t imagine being any other way. Rip-offs come from the seller. Not the buyer. Or don’t they?
