David has definitely hit the nail on the head with regards to the importance of online reputation management for businesses. After reading a recent TechCrunch article on a new webstartup called BView (www.bview.co.uk), I think I have finally found a suitable online reputation management tool for my business. BView is essentially a business search directory that enables customers to write reviews about businesses so that others can make more informed decisions before doing business. It also enables business owners (such as myself) to take control of their business profile and then invite customers to rate and review. The more reviews a business gets the higher it is positioned within the BView search. I figure that customers are always going to find somewhere to talk about businesses so as a business owner I need to embrace the internet and use platforms such as BView to engage in a 2 way conversation with my customers. All feedback helps me improve my business and presents me in a positive way.

The BView site is clearly in its early days but has great potential. Perhaps readers may know of something else I can try??
