I did get a kick out of that headline when I saw it on the BBC, and sent it to some of my friends. In reading your article, you mentioned that Google Images blocks pictures of the birds. I'm not sure whether they've changed it just now (though that could very well be the case), but with the moderate filter on, I get lots of pictures of the bird. Regular Google searching also yields several other amusing variations on the theme, such as:
