I remember reading Ballmer made a statement while travelling that Microsoft was moving ahead with their business with or without Yahoo.

He said something of the sort that if the deal works out fine, if not Microsoft moves forward.

He also said that Microsoft is going to buy something like 5 businesses per year priced up to $1 billion for the next 5 years.
