Business Blogs

Good post,  A lot of what organizations forget when introducing blogging to the corporate marketing mix is that blogging is not a top down activity.  If you are hoping to capitalize on serch engine traffic and high engagement, best practices is to include your employees as well.   the following paragraph is from an Article in the Dallas Morning News last week:

"It's clear that when it comes to traditional authority figures – whether they're chief executives or heads of state – people trust them less," says Mr. Edelman. "Employees are the new credible source of information. We have data that shows an employee blog is five times more credible than a CEO blog – and I say this as a CEO blogger."

Leveraging employees takes the pressure off any one person to create all the content, they have more crediblity and often more passion.   We like to say: "If you would give them a business card, or let them interact with customers....empower them to blog."  :-)

I feel blogging has come of age now. More corporate entities, especially in India, where I come from, are blogging to communicate and generate traffic, not to forget its impact on brand building.

Nice points mentioned thought, most bloggers dont reply to comment and that just discourages involvements. What a pity?
