Greta idea!

I think last.fm have got it exactly right. Give people something for free and they are a lot more likely to want to buy related products. If everything costs, it puts people off and makes people want to find free, illegal alternatives to getting their music.
Great job last.fm, keep it up :)

yes I agree with this comment - digitalTRAFFIC site hits, track downloads, sales etc have all increased after connecting with last.fm - very cool site for new / unsigned artists.
