PPC - Adwords Campaign
We use Adwords for more specific keywords of our business.
After content optimization and linking building of generic keywords (that ones wich have high ppc), we start Adwords campaigns.

ppc not needed if you have researched your eyword
Although I don't have a great deal of experience but I have seen that ppc is not required if you have researched your eyword well.PPc is required only when you are in competitive market and you are selling something on your website.
Keyword Research
Keyword research is definitly a big part of SEO. I can't remember who said it but they said " if a keyword is not searched for, is it really a keyword".

I think that the need for
I think that the need for PPC before you start a massive optmization campaign is overlooked a whole lot, even amongst "professional" and professional SEOs.
I don't really target any high-competition keyword markets for my sites that make me money, but I've found that by using PPC even in these low-to-mid competition keyword markets straight out the gate (before I really optimize my website's on-page elements) helps me to spend my efforts on the keywords that convert, even if the best phrases only get 30-50 searches per day.
You've written a very useful piece here & I hope that some website owners grab ahold of this before they spend a fortune on SEO based on estimated search volume alone.
