Making Link Bait Work For You

Link Bait

We were looking for 'white hat link bait' for our Wiccan/witchcraft/occult supply store.

Since most modern Pagans are self-taught (books and internet) there was a known need for a 'pronouncing dictionary' of Pagan terms. We went one better, and actually created a 'talking dictionary' of pagan terms, at http://dictionary.thestonepentacle.com . It has been wildly successful in generating inbound links.

Link Bait

Woke up yesterday morning to your article on Link Bait and it got me thinking.. "How can I make that work for me?" So I put a little video on You Tube called, "Maui Wedding In The Buff", and then sent it to all the folks on my list that can't wait to see this kind of thing and who are known for sending emails to all their friends. Within hours it's being looked at all over the place, but like you said, "only the after-effect – is measurable". Thanks for the tip!

It's hard with a niche site

This is a great article and one of the first to really define link bait in a way that's understandable. I'm constantly trying to think or articles that will appeal to the "mass" population, but I run a very niche blog and forum, so it's not very easy to find something that will appeal to the "mass" population.

To do so usually means I need to find something that is humorous or bizarre within my niche.

Link Bait

I like this article. First time that someone clearly defines the various concepts, and gives concrete examples.
Allright, is still not easy. To start you need someone to read your story - but there is a lot of logic behind this article.
Probably not in 1 day - but in 1 month or 1 year.
