I use these reviews before
I use these reviews before booking hotels and I find it very useful.
Of course, I browse at least 3-4 websites before I book a hotel. So, more reviews will only help the customers.
It's not following, just complimenting.
To the below commenter, it's nice to know that Orbitz thought of this first. As long as Travelocity does not claim to have brought the idea about, I see it as just a compliment. I think it's good that these travel services are giving customers more options. Also, the more competition the better...
Following Orbitz' lead...again
Nice to see the competition following our lead. We always say, imitation is the finest form of flattery.
Orbitz launched its authentic and sortable customer hotel reviews in June 2006 to mark our 5th anniversary....yes, that is over a year ago.

Travelers can take advantage of the first-hand knowledge of thousands of authentic hotel customer reviews solicited only from Orbitz customers who have actually booked and stayed at the hotel. Making Orbitz hotel searches even more relevant for the customer, these reviews can be sorted based on the type of traveler to find the right hotel that fits travelers' specific needs: business travelers, leisure vacationers, couples and families. Orbitz also enables customers to score the hotel, a rating between 1-5 for easy referencing.
In addition to customer scores and reviews, travelers can read commentary from Frommer's, one of the most trusted names in travel today, offering a discerning expert opinion on thousands of hotel properties.
Just want to keep the record straight.
Best, Brian Hoyt, Sr. Director, Public Relations, Orbitz Worldwide.
