looks like we already have a good site tht does the same job......and it was started long back in september last year....

there is a hindi transliteration site which I have been using from last 8 months you can check that site its amazing http://www.quillpad.com/hindi/

as pointed out above, this quillpad has been into existence evn before and can do the transliteration in 6 oter indian languages , with all south indian languaes, hindi and marathi
i think this technology by google is not new and there are better options already avilable online (this quillpad is by tachyon)
