Jason, the free market
Jason, the free market cannot "fail" -- it can merely fail to provide the result you're seeking. To bemoan the state of the free market while advocating regulation is misinformed at best and patently disingenuous at worst.
point taken
I understand and appreciate your point....except for the disingenuous part. I have never, not in my life, been disingenuous. I'll accept misinformed, not just because you say so, but because there's a lot I don't know (with any luck, Socrates was right and that admission is the beginning of wisdom)...but it certainly does seem that there are abuses afoot and the average consumer is feeling the pain of it....the robberbarons of today need to be kept in check and every generation will have them, and have to deal with them...in 50 years, we may be complaining about Google or another juggernaut startup, but they'll always have to be pulled back from exploiting, and we'll have to keep an eye on the government as well, who benefits from turning its head the other way. Today it's pharma, oil, and telco...tomorrow it will be...well, we'll see
just my two cents
