Thanks for this list. It is nice to hear what the best of the best are using. I personally like Linux for its reliability. I am not a big fan of Windows, and it seems a lot of people would agree. Thanks for the post, it is greatly appreciated!

Of course most people use Linux, Apache, PHP and MySQL. It's your typical server setup. Is that something new? Plus, why waste money on Windows when you can get something free and better?

It was interesting to know that Meebo uses C/C++, I always wondered what kind of tehnology they use server-side :)

Very interesting study. Quality read. PHP and MySql are very flexible and easier to work with. I agree with Jeff and Mark.

Yeah, its very interesting study but are you really not surprised by the results? I know for a fact that PHP is more flexible and easy to work with but i can not agree so much on MySql.
