Cache Your Data: JDBC vs. ADO.NET

JDBC vs ADO or ODBC

It has come to my mind, that if there is some chance to compare other older tecnologies with JDBC like for example "ADO or ODBC". I also have interest to know if those "old tecnologies or frameworks" are escentialy inferior in comparison to ADO.net.
