I find that to be a very strange practice and I hope they change it soon.

DMCA

I am going through the same thing with my other website. I was hosting it at Yahoo and using their Merchant Solutions store. They received a DMCA complaint and totally took my store down with no notification. I can't even access my database and noone at Yahoo will talk to me about it. I am in the process of rebuilding it on another server. Yahoo definately allows for some serious abuse.
