I agrre with your opinion and facts. I know a website that was interviewed by 5 journalists just a week before it website went online. Is site was suppose to be targeted by some very competitive keywords, and in term of SEO, it would have taken many months till he could see some big improvements in the ranking in search engines, including Google. But what came as a surprise, that after 3 weeks or so, and after the press release of the interviews and a backling to the original site, he start to appear in the first two pages in the top search engine SERPS. People where linking to that interview for many months to come, and that because of a big interest. This helped him get a big boost in SERPS, even that he never invest a single minute in doing SEO for his website.

SEO in itself is not the answer, using things like press releases is a great addition to a marketing campaign, good article

SEO-PR is a Great Resource

I use SEO-PR and believe that it is one of the best free resources online for submitting press releases in terms of SEO value. Releases from SEO-PR consistently appear in Google News and offer anchor text and the ability to format it using a WYSIWYG editor - smart.

Using SEO-PR and other resources, I have gotten my press releases to show up on as many as 5 out 10 of first page results (not News results, but actual first page results) for my target keywords.

PR for SEO

What an informative article. I launched a dating site 6 months ago. Knowing it was one of the most competitive industries online didnt bother me. I chose this industry because of the amount of traffic and revenue successful dating sites can achieve.

I have done so much research on seo. 99% of the time its the same advice. Very very rarely do people recomend a press release. I recently studied the seo techniques of a new competitor whos rankings have gone through the roof. They unlike most companies have used press release as an seo method.

I bet you cant guess what my next seo tactic will be?
