From long experience with my own website I find that yahoo delivers much superior search results, especially in terms of relevance. Google results seem too influenced by links (how many friends you have) and how long you've been around. Yahoo results appear more based on content. Google serves up too much overrated junk and often lists a suboptimum result -- a page on the topic you want that is not the most important or relevant on a particular site.
