Who talks about templates? Most of us hopefully create our sites on out own, or do at least hire a professional.

More words on the page content, than is one the template is advisable

As long as your page has more words than the template, you will be fine, if not there are DC issues

Word Count per page irrelevant for SEO

Nice article. I'm also convinced the word count per page is not important to rank well. The important thing is too have a lot of relevant content.
