I have read a lot about the usage of stop words over the last few years.  Words like in, for, click, by, the etc...  However I have to disagree with all that I have read. (please explain why I may be wrong)

You say

However using these words in anchor text can make a huge difference for those not using pigeon English when using the search engines.  You may find it hard to get ranked for "Franchise sale UK"  which is grammatically incorrect, perhaps you languish at number 9 out of 10 on the first page in Google, but a few anchor texts with the "in & for & the" STOP words may see you go to the top spot for a more grammatically correct phrase.  So why not add it?  I know from experience that most of my competitors do not use stop words, yet as I do I frequently find new phrases that attract number 1 and 2 spots in Google and provide me with website traffic because of them.

For me using stop words is a must and not a stop at all.  When I promote my search engine rankings to my clients I far prefer to show them my results with the stop words as I can show 20 number 1 spots for low word count phrases as opposed to mid way results for pigeon English phrases.

Release the STOP words and let them flow! :-)

Quite simply - I may not be number one for "Franchise Sale UK" but i am for "Franchises for sale in the UK"  & "UK Franchises for sale"

Good post but I’m wondering is it good to use the same keywords in the anchor text or you always have to mix them.I’ve got a real estate web site selling worldwide property and I need to find out first the right way to start with that link building

I've heard a lot of poeple talking about how anchor text isn't that important anymore.  To that I say it is simply not true.  My proof?  Do a standard keyword search in Google.  Then, do the same search but using the "allinanchor:" operator.  The results will be almost identical.

Thank you for the handy tips on anchoring text. I am still new to this and exploring its potential. Hope to see more insightful words soon. :)
