…No wait, Google Maps Again!

    April 21, 2006

What the heck… everyone else is talking about it… I may as well! Google has once again changed the name of its local search and mapping site (aka. Google Local) to Google Maps from.

Google merged the two sites last year under the name Google Local but recently the company decided to rename it Google Maps to avoid confusion because so many people were still referring to it by that name. Funny but it’s been my observation that people have pretty much always referred to it as Google Maps anyway… likely a good move as there’s loads of confusion in the online mapping wars anyway!
