  • Nikki Reed and Ian Somerhalder are newlyweds, and in many ways the honeymoon is still in progress.

As with many newly married couples, the question often posed to Reed and Somerhalder is one about children. Do they plan to have kids–and if so, how soon?

During a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight, Ian Somerhalder offered the perfect answer to the personal question.

“Oh, hell yes! Absolutely,” he said–joking about how he likes the process more than the result.

“You know, it’s all about practice. It’s not practice makes perfect–it’s perfect practice.”

    Nikki Reed no doubt agrees.

The Twilight star and the Vampire Diaries hunk married back in April, and while they plan to have children, they’re practicing–as Ian said–and serving as parents to their many pets.

Ian was recently questioned about professing his love for ex-girlfriend and former Vampire Diaries costar Nina Dobrev. It turns out his Twitter account was hacked, so there’s no scandal underway.

Nikki Reed surely knows how her husband feels about her. After all, they’re “practicing.”

Ian Somerhalder is excited about adding real children to their mix, however. He said he might not even wait for Nikki Reed to carry his baby.

“I’m actually pregnant right now,” he joked.

The newlywed phase of marriage is a lot of fun for most couples. When do you suppose Ian Somerhalder and Nikki Reed will actually settle down and start a family? Are they waiting for “practice” to simply make “perfect?”

What a perfect baby theirs will be–if he or she is even half as gorgeous as parents Ian Somerhalder and Nikki Reed.
