Nadya Suleman (Octomom) and Children Face Eviction

By: Jennifer Curra - December 11, 2013

Thirty-eight-year-old Octomum Nadya Suleman is no stranger to controversy. Suleman and her 14 children (10 boys and 4 girls) could be evicted from their house in Orange County, California, and just in time for Christmas. The house contains five bedrooms and three bathrooms, which sounds beyond adequate for the average family. However, reports claim that the children are pressed together in bunk beds inside a house that is quickly deteriorating.

Fifty-three-year-old Lana El-Jor, who is Nadya’s landlady, claims that she has suffered financial distress because of the famous Octomom’s negligence as a tenant. “I have had problems refinancing the building myself because of her. That’s one of the things why we have to ask her to leave. The bank refused to support the loan. She is said to have left her houses abused and everything and it worried the bank.”

Lana personally witnessed the living conditions when she stopped by the home one day while the 14 children were under the care of a nanny. “It was very messy. Let’s say they’re not as happy as my kids. Fourteen kids need a bigger backyard for sure. I saw they had four bunk beds. I think those were for the little ones, and they had beds in all the other rooms.”

A neighbor echoed the sentiments of Lana. “The house is very rundown and that broken window looks dangerous. It must get cold inside at night. It seems that Octomom or the nanny rarely take the children out and most of them spend all day holed up in the house as if they’re in hiding. It doesn’t look like a happy existence,” the neighbor said.

Octomom began the year being the center of ridicule. Suleman was investigated earlier in the year for welfare fraud. The Department of Welfare Fraud Prevention and Investigation researched the case when it was revealed that the television personality had earned $200,000 the previous year while she was still receiving benefits.

How many millions are we going to waste on this useless woman?

I hate to say this but the kids would be better off without her as she obviously has problems caring for them. However, I find it odd that this is happening just in time for Christmas and think it may be a ploy to get more money from the gullible public. She needs to get off her backside and get a job.

She does not want to work. She expects us tax payers to support her. it is easy money for her to go and spend on herself and the kids.

Kind of makes you wonder what may be the result when you outlaw abortion, cut public assistance, and allow individuals with no sense of personal responsibility…

I’m mad at her too but despite that to be fair, I can’t imagine taking 10 boys and 4 girls out much either especially since 8 of them are 5 yrs old. How many of us could? I had trouble keeping up with twins! Sure she has a nanny but is she 24/7 ? She would need a bus for all the car seats! What is wrong with four bunk beds? Are they all to get queen size? How is she supposed to keep an immaculate house with 14 kids? None of us can do it. Yeah, it’s her fault but are we being a little hypocritical, expecting this doo – doo bird to be Wonderwoman? For the kids’ sake social services should step in and do something. Yes it’s taxes but we all recently payed our Senators and Congressional representative to not work for a few days. I’d rather the taxes go to get extra supervision for the children. The children are innocent and deserve to have a decent childhood. Fussing at her is not going to help anyone.

I agree with you wholeheartedly! I think instead of us wasting time bitching about her, lets get her any parenting classes she may need, then get her some credit counciling so that she can make some better decisions on spending. I realize, just like you and probably more women than will admit it, that it would be almost impossible to keep an house immaculate house but even the smaller kids could help out even though they are only 5 by keeping their toys picked up and other things like that and the older kids could have chores to help out too! Kids are only too happy to help out if they’re given the chance. To them its an adventure!! It would be possible to keep a not dirty house.
She needs to simply stop trying to figure out a way to keep house and home together and get a job, a life coach, and a credit councilor and try to get her life together by getting a job that will help support herself and the children. She will never be able to do it without some support from the public, but she made that choice when she decided to have more children than she can take care of alone. Those kids deserve a better mom than they have! She needs to learn how to better take care of herself and them.

The doctor who implanted these fertilized eggs should be held accountable for the childrens’ well being. WTH do I want to take care of them?

What is it about poor / wretched women who MUST have kid after kid after kid? The planet is staggering under the weight and pollution of over-population!!! Women should have to get a license to have a kid, and there should be quotas.

she’s back in the media around christmas, looking for handouts. pathetic.

these children should have been removed long ago…if she lives in squalor…this is they way her children will learn to live when they become adults.. how can they develop normally living like this…very sad

How much more will it take for Child Services to step in and act in the best interest of the children ? Give them a chance for a normal life through open adoption and leave ‘Octomom’ to her own devices. It’s not the children’s fault their birth mother is not putting them before her own selfish interest, make an honest living and provide for them. (BTW, don’t they have a father somewhere to help out ? Or the irresponsible doctor who artificially impregnated her with all those babies ?)

  • pate

Are we such a callous nation that we vilify a woman because she chose to not terminate some of the babies when she found out it would be multiple births. So she had 6 children and wanted a seventh child! She nor the doctor knew that all the eggs he implanted would be fertile. Any other nation would revere a woman who gave birth to eight children at once. People who have quadruplets get tons of help from strangers. Why are we so antagonistic against this person. Because she isn’t married? She took the porn job only because she was desperate for money. SHE HAS 14 CHILDREN!! HELLO?? Give her a break! If she got some help from caring, non-judgemental people she wouldn’t be in the predicament that she is in. And to evict her before Christmas?? Come on!! This woman needs help – What happened to Americans that we have no sympathy or charity for this person and her children?????

    • deb thistled

she already HAD 6 KIDS that she couldn’t care for when she was implanted with 8 embryo’s. So let’s put 8 more on the welfare roles

    • skyler1

      Shut up Nadya.

Pate, she blew through millions in donations. She collects at least 5,000 a month in food stamps and welfare, not including what she gets from social security for the disabled kids. She is not going to go hungry. Her problem is she has expensive tastes and won’t live in her budget.

i’m supposed to feel sorry for her? the children, ya. her, no,
