‘Murdered: Soul Suspect’ Coming June 3

Square Enix today announced that Murdered: Soul Suspect will be launching in the U.S. on June 3, 2014. The game was announced for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One less than one month ago and will cost $60 for those platforms. In an odd pricing twist, though, the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC versions of the game will all cost only $50.
The publisher is also throwing in an “interactive digital strategy map” for customers who pre-order any version of the game from Amazon, Target, Best Buy, GameStop, or Walmart. The strategy guide can be downloaded and accessed on tablets and smartphones.

Soul Suspect, in contrast to so many current high-budget game projects, is a supernatural detective thriller. Players will take on the role of a detective named Ronan O’Connor who has just been murdered. As a ghostly entity O’Connor finds himself in the half-world of Dusk and must solve his own murder to find peace.
The concept is a unique one coming from a large publisher, and especially one that is leaning increasingly on mobile development. The latest preview for the game shows that the dark, horror-laced themes of Soul Suspect will be thoroughly explored during the story-focused game:
