Monitor Questions in XP

Get the WebProNews Newsletter:

Hello:

When I switch user on Windows XP monitor screen (NEC FE950) completely blanks out before desktop shows up. Is it possible to avoid this and keep the monitor screen ‘on’ while switching users?

Thanks in advance.

Guntur

Hi Guntur,

You have to understand that your computer monitor can display any number of possible screen resolutions combined with any number of color combinations. When switching from the logon screen to the desktop, your monitor is changing it’s display mode. More expensive monitors do this more seamlessly than cheaper monitors. There is nothing within Windows that controls this. This is all about your monitor. Consider this factor the next time you purchase a PC.

I do have a question for you Why do you want the monitor to not blank out while it switches resolutions?
