  • Southern Baptist pastor and head of the North American Mission Board Henry Blackaby was found by police, after going missing for over 24 hours. Blackaby, who is 78, and author of the popular discipleship workbook Experiencing God, suffered a heart attack while driving, which left him confused, and cruising around the Atlanta area. He’d been missing since about 4 P.M. on Thursday.

Blackaby’s son Richard took to Twitter:

On Friday, Richard had said hundreds of volunteers and police joined the search for his father, whose debit card was last used about an hour and a half south of his Atlanta home. Henry, a diabetic, left in a black Lincoln and drove around for 29 hours.

The Blackaby Ministries website added, “The Blackaby family would like everyone to know that Henry has been found and is safe. His health concerns are being addressed and we will keep everyone posted with the news. We wish to express to everyone our appreciation and gratitude for the prayers and concern over the last 29 hours. Henry has taught us that we can experience God in the good and the bad times. We thank God that we have experienced his grace, peace, and faithfulness in these times.”

Dr. Richard Blackaby has served as the president of Blackaby Ministries International since July 2006, and took to Twitter again after Henry was found, with an update:

The elder Blackaby’s Experiencing God was one of the best-selling Christian books of the 1990’s and early 2000’s.
