Mindy Kaling is appearing in her first Super Bowl ad. She is 'an invisible force of comedy' for Nationwide Insurance. The premise of the ad is that Nationwide doesn't make their customers feel invisible.

“My writers and I had so much fun brainstorming ideas for this ad because it was all about wish fulfillment," Mindy Kaling said.

The ad is directed by Doug Liman, who is best known for the Bourne film series, as well as Edge of Tomorrow and Swingers.

“All of us, even beautiful, young Hollywood celebrities like me, have been in situations where we feel invisible," the star of The Office and The Mindy Project said.

Mindy Kaling follows in the footsteps of former Nationwide spokesperson Peyton Manning, as she fantasizes about the "ridiculous stuff you would do if you were invisible and mischievous" in the ad.

This is the first time Nationwide Insurance has had a Super Bowl ad since 2007. Their spot with Mindy Kaling is set to air during the second quarter of the game between the New England Patriots and the Seattle Seahawks.
