Mike Sorrentino, best know as The Situation on The Jersey Shore, was arrested on Tuesday at his family-owned tanning salon–Sorrentino’s Boca Tanning Salon–in New Jersey. It was around 2:00 on Tuesday afternoon when Middletown, New Jersey police received a call about an altercation at a tanning salon. When they showed up they arrested Sorrentino and took him in to the station for processing.

The Situation, who is 31, has a new reality TV show on the TV Guide Network called The Sorrentinos. It features–and this will shock you–the day to day callings of running family-owned tanning salon. As a bonus it will deal with Mike Sorrentino’s efforts at remaining sober.

Sorrentino starred along with Nicole ‘Snooki’ Polizzi and Jenni ‘JWoww’ Farley, among others, on the MTV hit show that was filmed on the actual Jersey Shore. The group of stars even coined the acronym GTL, which stands for Gym, Tan, Laundry. It was just part of the lifestyle the group of heavy drinkers and constant party people maintained.

Sources say Mike Sorrentino was spotted leaving the New Jersey police station in the hours following Tuesday’s arrest sporting a black eye. The altercation that took place was reportedly between him and his brother.

None of this should come as much of a surprise to those who were even remotely aware of the goings-on among the cast of characters who starred on The Jersey Shore. Mike Sorrentino was just one of a group of people most would describe as losers, although Snooki and JWoww appear to have grown up a bit and embraced ongoing and impending motherhood, respectively. As for the rest of them, a fight in a tanning salon is probably pretty mild compared to what these guys are capable of.

Will you be checking out Mike Sorrentino’s latest reality show endeavors? Wouldn’t you just love to know the ins and outs of running a tanning salon from a former member of The Jersey Shore?
