  • Michelle Rodriguez and her Furious 7 co-stars definitely have a reason to celebrate.

Furious 7, starring Michelle Rodriguez, Vin Diesel, and the late Paul Walker, among others, earned $60.6 million domestically in its second weekend.

That amazing figure is following a huge opening weekend haul of $143.6 million.

This past weekend pushed the film’s total to $252 million, which is a best for the franchise.

Overseas figures are impressive, as well, with China bringing in $68.6 million by itself on its Sunday opening day. That makes Furious 7 the highest-grossing one-day opening ever for the country.

Michelle Rodriguez and the Fast & Furious family are riding high at the box office right now.

Of course, Michelle Rodriguez is amazing as Letty in the Fast & Furious franchise, but that is probably because she chose to be there, and she is picky about her roles.

Michelle Rodriguez said, “I’m really picky about the parts I choose. I can’t be the slut. I cannot be just the girlfriend. I can’t be the girl who gets empowered because she’s been raped. I can’t be the girl who gets empowered and then dies.”

Nope. Michelle Rodriguez has to be the girl that kicks butt.

Michelle Rodriguez said of her self-created character, “I just said to myself, look, ‘You’re going to just have to create your own archetype, doesn’t matter if you go broke doing it. And I almost did go broke, twice! But people finally got it: Ok, Michelle is not malleable, you’re not going to influence her by shining fame and money at her, and they stopped offering me that sort of stuff.”

She added, “But you know, it’s a Catch-22. It’s helped me and it’s screwed me. I’ve stuck to my guns and I’m proud and people get it. But I also haven’t carried a movie since Girlfight.”

I think Michelle Rodriguez has done pretty well!
