Country music legend Mel Tillis, 81, is home after being released from the hospital following heart surgery last weekend.
His daughter, Pam Tillis, released statement Saturday about the legendary music star's imminent release.
"Dad is doing great and is happy to be leaving the hospital in time to catch today's Florida vs. Missouri game," she said.
He says he plans on releasing new music later this year, and hopes to be back on the road soon.
He won the CMA Awards' most coveted award, Entertainer of the Year, and is known for his speech impediment, which disappears when he sings.
Tillis's biggest hits include I Ain't Never, Good Woman Blues, and Coca-Cola Cowboy.
