  • Mega Millions has announced that a winning lottery ticked was sold last week in California. The ticket was sold at a 76 gas station in Century City, California and matches all six numbers from Friday night’s Mega Millions drawing. The lucky lottery winner now stands to gain the $30 million jackpot.

Despite the excitement surrounding the announcement, the winning ticket buyer has yet to come forward. Friday’s winning numbers were 1, 10, 15, 41, 54, and 9 (the Mega number).

According to the California Lottery, a separate winning ticket was also sold in Union City, California near San Francisco. That ticket matched only the five numbers that are not the Mega number, but is still worth over $233,000. A second ticket matching those five numbers was sold in Georgia and is worth an estimated $1 million.

Five tickets matching four numbers and the Mega number were also sold in California and are worth $3,635 each.

The Mega Millions jackpot has now been reset and will be worth $15 million during the next drawing, scheduled for April 8.

This latest jackpot win comes less than one month after the last Mega Millions jackpot was claimed. Back in March two jackpot winners matched all six numbers from a Mega Millions drawing that held a $400 million jackpot. Those winners, from Florida and Maryland, split the massive prize.

According to Mega Millions the March jackpot winners walked away with the third-largest cash prize in Mega Millions history. The jackpot had been rolling over and growing since the beginning of 2014.

Thought the March jackpot winners walked away with the third-largest prize in Mega Millions history, the second-largest jackpot had been claimed just months before. In December 2013 two lucky lottery winners from Georgia and California split a $636 million Mega Millions jackpot. That prize pool had been well on its way to $1 billion when the winners were announced.
