There may be a 17-year age gap between Mary-Kate Olsen and her boyfriend Olivier Sarkozy, but that doesn't mean the two aren't in love. The couple have been dating for a little over 2 years and apparently, Sarkozy decided it was time to take the next step in their relationship, and proposed to Olsen.
While many people still have a hard time understanding the couple, the engagement does not come as a surprise to everyone. Just a few months ago, rumors of an engagement were sparked when the couple was seen shopping for engagement rings at a popular high-end jewerly store. The couple already live together in a $6.25 million townhouse in New York's Lower East Side.
As expected, Olsen has expensive taste and while she picked out several rings that she liked, all of them were priced at more than $100,000 each. Hopefully she was able to decide on one or Olivier was able to pick the right one for her.
Olivier has been married once before and has two children, Julien, 12, and Margo, t10, from the relationship. Sources close to Olsen and Oliver claim that Olsen fits in well with the family and gets along well with Olivier's children.
“Mary-Kate has made him a better father. She remembers all the kids' special events," a source previously told the publication of the husband and wife-to-be. "She thinks he's a great dad," one source said.
Olivier and Olsen love to travel together and they are often off on romantic getaways or extravagant vacations. Although their engagement has not yet been confirmed, it is likely that they will remain quiet about it for some time, perhaps until they are married.
