Mark McGrath, former Sugar Ray frontman, proposed to his longtime girlfriend Carin Kingsland in 2009, but the two of them have put off making it official despite having two children together.
The pair decided to take the plunge on Monday, however, and married in a small ceremony.
"Mark and Carin are tying the knot today up here in Santa Barbara," his manager, Chip Quigley, said. "Just a few friends and family to celebrate their longtime love affair . . . beautiful day. Great people."
The couple met in 1994 and have weathered a hard road, according to McGrath, who announced the nuptials to People Magazine. A turbulent relationship and trouble conceiving put strain on the engagement, but when IVF helped them conceive twins, it only strengthened their bond. The children, 2-year olds Lydon and Hartley, were the ringbearer and flower girl at the wedding.
“After 18 years of breakups, makeups, beautiful twins and an unwavering love that provided some pretty damn good song lyrics, we are happy to announce that we are finally married!” McGrath said.
