Lorraine Bracco, star of the television show The Sopranos, recently revealed her new, thinner body and says that her weight loss is a result of exercise and healthy eating habits. In 2010, Bracco weighed 183 pounds and did not feel good about herself.
After seeing her parents struggle with their own health issues, she decided she wanted to lose the weight and get healthy. She consulted a life coach and had a diet plan created that would not only help her lose weight but also help make her healthy.
Three years later, Bracco has lost 35 pounds and says that she not only looks better than ever, but feels better as well. Although she now has no trouble eating healthy and exercising regularly, Bracco admits that it wasn’t always easy for her to stay motivated.
“I started off very slow. My feeling is also, you sign up to go to the gym and you go to two classes and then you can’t walk. It’s just not the way to do it,” she said. “Now, I go to Pilates class three times a week. I love that there are women who are in their 80s in my class and there were kids who are 23.”
Bracco said that one of her biggest struggles during the early stages of her diet was her craving for sweets, mainly Twizzlers. Bracco admitted to being a Twizzler addict but said that after giving them up for so long, it was hard to eat them again. When she tried a small piece of the candy, she realized she no longer liked it. “I ended up spitting it out because I no longer have a taste for it,” she said. “It was so sugary, it was almost like poison to me.”
Bracco plans to continue her new eating habits and workout plans and is now focused on maintaining her weight and staying healthy.
