  • Lisa Kudrow, Courteney Cox, and Jennifer Aniston became Phoebe, Monica, and Rachel again, but not for a Friends movie or reboot series. The former Friends stars reunited for a skit on the late night talk show Jimmy Kimmel Live.

Aniston was interviewed by Kimmel to promote her new movie, Life of Crime. Then he changed topics and started discussing his Friends fan fiction. He asked Aniston to help him act out some of it, and he revealed a set replica of Monica and Rachel’s apartment. Suddenly, Kudrow and Cox joined them on stage. The skit unleased one awkward moment after another as Kimmel’s fan fiction got more sexual and ridiculous with every new page. Aniston and her Friends co-stars played their annoyance about the skit so well that some fans questioned its authenticity.

The next night, Kimmel reassured fans that Aniston knew everything that was about to happen before they filmed it. He even shared some of the colorful social media reactions to it.

Kudrow also reunited with another Friends co-star earlier in the week to celebrate the Emmy awards. Matt LeBlanc and Kudrow were seen together at the Showtime Emmy party. They both currently have comedies airing on the network, LeBlanc’s Episodes and Kudrow’s Web Therapy. LeBlanc also made several appearances on Web Therapy, along with other Friends stars like David Schwimmer and Cox. The Kimmel reunion, and LeBlanc and Kudrow’s one, made fans speculate that all six friends could come together again this fall.

September 22, 2014 marks the 20th anniversary of the premiere episode of Friends. To honor this special occasion, a Central Perk coffee shop replica will appear in SoHo from Sept. 17-Oct. 18. Besides giving away free coffee, James Michael Tyler, who played Gunter on Friends, will make special appearances throughout the shop’s run. It’s possible Kudrow, Aniston, Cox, LeBlanc, Schwimmer, and Matthew Perry might make their own appearances at Central Perk. Even if they don’t appear at Central Perk, we wouldn’t be surprised if there are more Friends surprises to come.
