Lindsay Lohan’s Reality Show Slammed by Rosie O’Donnell on TwitterBy: Erika Watts - April 15, 2014
Things are going fairly well for Lindsay Lohan right now. The former star hasn’t had any legal issues pop up lately and launched a reality show on the Oprah Winfrey Network last month. Even though things are looking up somewhat for the Mean Girls star, there is one person who isn’t too impressed–Rosie O’Donnell. O’Donnell blasted Lohan’s new show on Twitter, calling it a “tragedy.”
Judging from Rosie O’Donnell’s Twitter feed, she is a big fan of Game of Thrones, but Lohan’s reality show Lindsay? Not so much. Lindsay documents Lohan’s struggle to move on from her drug and alcohol problems as she tries to put her acting career back together.
Watching someone go through such a raw period in their lives isn’t for everyone, no doubt. While some people would be content to just flip to the next channel when they see something they don’t care for on TV, O’Donnell decided to let all of her almost 800,000 followers know her feelings about Lindsay. Check out the scathing tweet below.
And apparently Lindsay isn’t the only Lohan that O’Donnell doesn’t care for, as she retweeted a post slamming mom Dina Lohan’s intelligence:
Even if O’Donnell wasn’t exactly tactful in her opinion of Lohan’s show, she does have a point. It was reported over the weekend that Lohan was spotted drinking alcohol at Coachella. Lohan also admitted to having some problems with recovery on an episode of Lindsay that aired last week.
Even though Lohan’s sobriety is a work in progress, Oprah Winfrey thinks that Lohan is making a lot of progress. “I think she’s doing really OK,” Winfrey said during The Late Show With Dave Letterman last week. “To have cameras following you around for every phase of your life, and you are trying to pull your life together, I think that’s a really difficult thing. So, yeah, we’re really pleased she’s making some progress.”
In other Lindsay Lohan news, the Scary Movie 5 star’s mom just pleaded guilty to DUI. While the elder Lohan has expressed concern about her daughter’s drug and alcohol abuse, she was arrested in September and charged with drunk driving. In addition to having her license revoked, Dina will reportedly be sentenced to perform 100 hours of community service, pay $3,000 in fines, and attend a drunk driver program.
Mark Heller, Dina’s lawyer, says that they were very happy that she won’t have to serve any jail time. “Considering this is the first day of Passover, we were very pleased to receive an offer which would resolve her criminal case in Nassau County with a commitment of no jail, no probation, and that afforded her the opportunity to resume her driving privileges shortly,” Heller said.
