Lindsay Lohan has been in and out of trouble over the past couple years.
Back in 2010, the Liz & Dick actress suffered the consequences for her erratic behavior when she served 14 days of a 90-day jail sentence for violating probation.
Now, she's opening up about the life changing experience. During her recent interview on The Jonathan Ross Show, she spoke candidly about her time behind bars.
“You leave for one hour a day but you don’t go outside," she revealed. "Other girls in those cells were in there for murder. They told me it was for safety purposes but what am I going to do?"
She also recounted the incident that led to her time in prison.
“I made a mistake. I went to a club, I drank and I drove home. It is not the right thing to do but to put someone in that position… it was very scary. But I finally had silence in my life. As scared as I was, I finally felt like I did not have to answer to anyone or do anything for anyone.”
Although the 28-year-old actress had no reservations about sharing the intimate details of her personal life, she reportedly seemed a bit irritated when Ross asked how long she's spent in prison.
For those who don't know, her 14-day stint isn't the only time she's spent behind bars. There have also been occasions where she was lucky enough to be released due to overcrowding.
“I have no idea. I’ve blocked that part out. That’s in the past. OK. You are not putting this on the show,” she said.
“Well, it’s been lovely, occasionally tense, having you here. But that’s not necessarily a bad thing. I was just going on about the same subject, which is why you, understandably, got a little defensive.”
Lindsay Lohan's interview with Jonathon Ross aired on Sat. Oct. 25.
