Lindsay Lohan may be planning a presidential campaign but that doesn’t mean she can’t spare some time for doing what she does best – acting.
The 29-year-old former child star has been teasing her Instagram followers with photos of herself behind the scenes during filming. The movie, which is reportedly called The Shadow Within, has been said to be a possible English remake of the 1970 Japanese psychological thriller of the same name.
One photo shows a close-up shot of Lindsay Lohan with the caption: “My first day on my new film!!!! Will be sending a sneak peak of my character this week 💋 #theshadowwithin.”
News on her role or castmates have yet to be revealed but Lindsay Lohan seems to be excited about her new venture. Her last full-length film was the 2013 Paul Schrader-directed erotic thriller, The Canyons, which also starred porn actor James Deen, Canadian actor Nolan Funk, and acclaimed independent filmmaker Gus Van Sant.

The previous year, Lindsay Lohan also starred as a young Elizabeth Taylor in the Lifetime bio, Liz & Dick. The film, which also starred Australian actor Grant Bowler, focused on Taylor’s one-and-off relationship with Welsh actor Richard Burton.
The Mean Girls star also made her stage debut in London’s West End last October when she appeared in David Mamet’s Speed-the-Plow. Theater critics called her as “minor revelation” and her performance “adequate.”
Like many other actors who grew up in the public eye, Lindsay Lohan has had her share of controversies. She has been arrested several times for drinking under the influence as well as possession of cocaine. Her tumultuous relationship with DJ Samantha Ronson was well-documented by the media, as well various issues that surround her divorced parents, Dina and Michael.
