Lindsay Lohan was released from rehab on Tuesday after a 90-day stay, but a judge has ruled that she must see a therapist at least three times a week until next year.
"If these sessions are not required by the court and attendance verified once a month to ensure accountability, it is a setup for almost certain failure," wrote Richard Taite, CEO of Cliffside Malibu Clinic in a letter to the judge. "Ms. Lohan has made a solid foundation from which to continue the excellent work she has begun here at Cliffside Malibu."
Lohan is still on probation for lying to police about her involvement in a car accident and for a separate incident involving a necklace theft. However, she will be allowed to travel, even with the terms of her release, as long as she checks in with her therapist via video chat. Lohan pleaded no contest to reckless driving and lying to authorities after her crash with an 18-wheeler last June, which sent her to the hospital.
The troubled star took to Twitter recently to express her appreciation after reading a good review of her new film "The Canyons", which debuts at the Venice Film Festival later this month. She also took some time to thank her fans for sending happy birthday wishes in July.
