Despite the lashing Rush Limbaugh has taken lately for his remarks about Sandra Fluke, the advertisers he has lost, the scandal that still hangs over the whole thing, his fans are hanging tough. From the classic Mega-Dittoes faithful have come Twitter campaigns like #rallyfor rush, aimed at making those advertisers who bailed on their hero pay dearly for their sins.
Netflix finds itself in a particular quandary. After coming under boycott for advertising on Limbaugh's program, they lost members until they issued statements and clarified that they were pulling out. Limbaugh fans retaliated by canceling their own memberships with Netflix. Then, when Netflix ads continued to run on Limbaugh's show - possibly leftover buys - the boycott hit them again.
Online backup service, Carbonite, had seen stock declines for months. After issuing a statement and leaving Limbaugh, their stock continued to drop. Many Limbaugh fans celebrated, claiming responsibility.
Limbaugh supporters have taken to Twitter. Here is a collection of pro-Limbaugh tweets, including those by some non-fans who came to his defense.
I love this "Eleanor Roosevelt" type outrage people are having about Susan Fluke! It's justified and rooted in self-righteousness!
The thing people are missing in this Susan Fluke thing is that she is what chicks looks like who get laid a lot at Georgetown.
I am listening to Rush Limbaugh's explanation of his comments about Sandra Fluke and subsequent apology. I am still a proud dittohead. tbc
Ppl protesting Rush Limbaugh's sponsors, take a chill pill. He has right to speak his mind. Ads in his show dont mean they support his views
Please convey my support to Rush Limbaugh. His comments are "spot on,' and he should have no concern over losing his fan base. Matt
I'm no Rush Limbaugh fan - he was WAY wrong to call Sandra Fluke that. But come on - shouldn't this be called out on both sides?
Not a Limbaugh fan, just because he said "slut", the left is pillaging him to death. Millions call women "sluts." & men "dicks." every day.
I'm no Rush Limbaugh fan, but the same people dancing on his sponsors' graves were very silent when Keith Olbermann acts like a misogynist..
Why wasn’t there this much controversy when Rush Limbaugh called me a slut?
