  • Léa Seydoux and Monica Bellucci are both set to give Daniel Craig’s James Bond a run for his money in the new Spectre. And while Seydoux is only 29, Monica Bellucci is set to be the oldest “Bond girl” ever at age 50.

Seydoux is a French actress, and got her start in France. But she has appeared in American films like Inglourious Basterds, Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol, and The Grand Budapest Hotel.

Bellucci, for her part, is well known to American audiences, even though she is Italian. She played Mary Magdelene in The Passion of the Christ, and went for a different spiritual figure as Persephone in The Matrix Reloaded and The Matrix Revolutions.

Aside from Craig, Seydoux, and Bellucci, other cast members of the new Spectre film include

    Christoph Waltz as Franz Oberhauser
    Andrew Scott as Denbigh
    Dave Bautista as Mr. Hinx
    Ralph Fiennes as M
    Naomie Harris as Miss Moneypenny
    Ben Whishaw as Q
    Rory Kinnear as Bill Tanner
    Jesper Christensen as Mr. White

Prior to the official announcement today, there had been much speculation about Christoph Waltz’s role, with some saying he would be the classic Bond villain “Blofeld.” Even though he is not listed as Blofeld, there is still some rumor that this is a red herring and that he is still yet to be revealed as Blofeld.

It would not be the first time this kind of deception in casting announcements happened. Benedict Cumberbatch’s identity for Star trek Into Darkness was listed as “John Harrison,” an alias his character assumed within the film. But that effectively hid his real identity as the villain Khan.
