    Michele and Monteith began working together on the set of “Glee” in 2009, and after a few years began dating and have been in a romantic relationship since 2012. “I don’t even remember a time when he wasn’t my boyfriend,” Michele told Marie Claire in an interview that came out in it’s January 2013 issue. “No one knows me better than Cory.”

    Just a few weeks earlier, the “Glee” cast joined together to for a promotional photo shoot for “Glee’s” 5th season. Filming for the upcoming season was scheduled to start sometime in mid-August, with the first episode airing on September 11th. While at the shoot Michele tweeted, “Having the best time at our #Glee cast #Season5 gallery shoot! I can’t believe it’s our 5th season! Times flies when you’re having fun:)”.

    It was reported that Monteith voluntarily checked himself into a rehab facility in April, and was being treated there for substance abuse. During this time, Monteith had the unwavering support from girlfriend, Michele.

    I love and support Cory and will stand by him through this. I am grateful and proud he made this decision.

    Upon finishing his treatment, Monteith tweeted to his fans saying, “sending out big love to everyone. thank you for the continued support! It means the world to me!”

    There has been no word as to whether or not his history of substance abuse contributed to his untimely death since the cause of death has not yet been determined.

    Michele is continuing to struggle to cope with Monteith’s sudden death and had her rep release a statement asking for her privacy while she is dealing with this devastating time.
