Actress Kristen Bell and beau Dax Shepard have announced they are expecting their first child and say she is past the early stages–which include morning sickness–and is enjoying preparing for the baby.

While the couple got engaged in 2009 after dating for two years, they say they’re in no rush to get married, instead taking a vow not to wed until the privilege is given to everyone.

“We wouldn’t want to invite all of our friends who don’t have that right to celebrate us, who have that right. We just don’t feel right about that,” Shepard said.

“Like forty percent of our friends are gay and so you don’t want to invite them and be like, ‘Hey sorry,’” Bell added.

Bell has often described Shepard as the “man of her dreams”, saying he will never let her mood darken if he’s around.

“He constantly keeps me laughing: when I’m sad, mad, frustrated, annoyed. Regardless of what it is he can lighten the mood. He’ll do anything that the mood requires,” she said. “I can’t get frustrated and that is a very powerful weapon. Comedy is a very powerful weapon. He’s so funny that it’s overwhelming.
