It’s been exactly a month since Kickstarter allowed Canadian creators to launch their projects, and today the crowdfunding site is sharing some stats from a pretty busy first month.

According to Kickstarter, creators launched 301 projects in the past 30 days, 19 of which have been successfully funded. Over $3.2 million (CAD) has been pledged by over 47,000 unique backers.

The majority of the backers for Canadian-based projects have actually come from the U.S. (44%). 22% of the nearly 50,000 unique backers came from Canada.

“Most of the 301 projects that have launched are still funding, but 19 have already been successfully funded! The successfully funded projects include Little Free Libraries in British Columbia and New Brunswick, a sequel to a beloved video game, a film that launched during the Toronto International Film Fest, and, yes, even a hockey stick! The biggest project to date has been The Peachy Printer, a 3D printer and scanner project out of Saskatchewan, which has raised over $583,295 CAD, more than 1,167% of its goal, since it launched. (The project ends in 10 days),” says Kickstarter.

Last year, after a month of being open to UK projects, Kickstarter announced 407 total projects, with 45,799 individual backers and 30 successes.

Next up – Australia and New Zealand. Last month, Kickstarter said that they would be opening up projects in that region “soon.” but didn’t give a definite timeframe.
